“ONENESS” ANNE BOWEN COLLECTION WINTER 2011

Ready-to-wear designer Anne Bowen debuted her Winter 2011 Collection, “Oneness,” late last month here in New York.

Inspired by the works of abstract expressionists Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, and Barnett Newman, as well as some present day artists, Bowen’s installation entwined wool and silk threads from the gowns on her models with the walls and ceiling of the Midtown loft that hosted the unveiling.

The presentation was meant to “explore how we as individuals are inextricably connected to one another.”

My favorites are the Nudes, inspired by Jackson Pollock:

A girl after my own heart, Bowen brought her pooch for moral support (pictured with my friend Dustin):

I loved the alternative display to a traditional runway show.  The web was engaging and allowed us to get up close and personal with the impeccable and delicate designs and Bowen herself.

And as if the fabulous gowns and adorable doggie didn’t make me feel connected enough, they were pouring lychee & champagne cocktails all night!

Can you feel the love?

  1. What a neat idea! I love that more and more designers are getting away from the traditional runway shows and using different outlets to show case their new lines.
