MODE MONDAY: SNOWTOBER

Halloween delivered an early fright this weekend as NYC’s cozy fall weather masqueraded as a bone-chilling, thunder-snowstorm.

The unseasonal flurries derailed our Saturday night Halloween festivities as we opted to hide deep under the covers instead. I can’t ever remember snow around Halloween and not surprisingly the little that spooked us was a record amount for October in Manhattan.

While NYC was largely unaffected, some of our neighbors like New Jersey and Westchester County got considerably worse weather and even lost power in many areas so I can’t complain. If this is fall, I’m shaking in boots over the impending winter!

By Sunday morning, the storm passed and the clouds parted, leaving just the brisk weather to contend with.  Here we are, in layers, heading to brunch at Boutique Eat Shop, one of our favorite neighborhood haunts:

    I KNOW…we didn’t get snow at the shore..just hail/horrible rainy mess…but it was bonechillingly cold as well.
    Love your stylish and warm gear..that bag is adorable..and of course so is your best accessory, Sebastian- such a cutie!

    We got 16″ in CT–no power for 24+ hours (thank goodness for the generator!). But enough about weather, love fashion so much more. Your bag is fab and I adore the little man’s peacoat.

    I can only see a peek of your boots, but they look awesome! The weather was so nice yesterday after the storm… so crazy. I went out Saturday night, thankfully taxis were plentiful!

    Those frames look amazing on you. It’s so hard for me to find sunglasses cause I’ve got the whole flat Asian nose bridge thing going on, but I think I found a pair yesterday that might work. Going back again to do another “test run.” Should it be this hard to buy eyewear? First world problems. =)
