Thanks to L’Oreal for sponsoring my post about my favorite beauty looks, tips and tricks! Check out Makeup.com for beauty advice from the experts.
Celebrity make-up artist Jacqui Phillips dished her favorite make-up trends for fall/winter last month and I’ve incorporated 2 of them into my every day make-up routine, thanks to some easy-to-find, fail-proof, beauty products. Tis the season for a bold eye!
Smokey Eyes with Splashes of Bronze, Gold & Silver: The smokey eye gets a metallic makeover this season with hints of bronze, silver, and gold-based tones. By mixing shimmery shades with deeper black, brown, and navy shadows, you’ll create a sexy, shimmery eye that stands out without overwhelming your entire look.
If you’re not confident with make-up application or pressed for time but still want to achieve the look, I’ve had great success with REVLON CustomEyes. It takes the guess work out of which eye shadow shades to blend by supplying 5 shadows in one compact and a fail-proof, color-by-numbers-type- cheat sheet right on the back. I use the “Naturally Glamorous” combo most days since it has just enough shimmer to make my eyes pop but doesn’t look heavy or overdone. You can easily pump up the volume with the darker colors for nights and holiday parties.
Winged Eyes: I’m obsessed with this trend and add a little wing even for day time. Jacqui recommends using a felt tip liner or an angled brush with a cream liner but I recently started using L’Oreal Telescopic Precision Liquid Eyeliner and it’s incredibly easy (and inexpensive) to use. The brush is tiny and easy to maneuver and if I make a mistake, the formula is easy to remove with just a dry Q-tip, which I always have on hand.

Those are my latest quick and inexpensive beauty tricks. Have you incorporated anything new into your beauty routine lately or for the holidays?

Great tips, momma–thank you! I always wish I could pull off those smoky eyes, I feel as though I’m such a spazz when it comes to putting on makeup though. But this looks easy enough (“fail-proof” speaks to me, HA!)

Omg, I am glad you posted this! I am just not good at doing a smoky eye and had been wanting to try this smoky eye pallet for a while. I saw it in the drug store the other day and there were several options so i couldnt decide. Will totally try Naturally Glamorous.

Sadly these tips were way too advanced for me. I am just trying to get into the routine of wearing makeup daily! I bought it…but I only seem to wear it on very special occasions!

I completely understand! I didn’t really wear make-up until my 30s but now I love trying out new stuff. It’s such an inexpensive way to invigorate your look.

I can do a smokey eye, but it takes me FOREVER to achieve it perfectly. LOL. BUT…. I love the winged eye. I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, but I’ve been wanting to try a liquid eyeliner since the summer.
