If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that little Lucas had unscheduled bathtime this afternoon courtesy of some unruly poop. Here we are pre-suds:
See his pristine, sensitive, baby skin? Well, I make it my business to keep it that way.
One of the ways we fight diaper rash is to always apply ointment during nappy changes as a preventative measure and to protect the skin. Is there anything less glamorous than diaper rash? I think not.
If experience has taught me anything though, it’s that diaper rash is inevitable and no little one is immune. A wet diaper, diet change, or chafing diaper can all cause a rash and discomfort. Having a plan and a remedy, not only to protect but soothe and comfort baby’s skin, is key.
Boudreaux’s Butt Paste sent us a kit to help kick rash including its pharmacist-formulated, pediatrician-recommended ointment to review. I like everything about it– it’s flesh color, creamy consistency that goes on smooth, and pleasant odor (smells like cinnamon to me). Best of all, it’s keeping our little guy’s skin healthy. Happy baby, happy mama.
Do you have any diaper rash remedies for soothing an uncomfortable baby you’d like to share?
