4 Signs of Poor Skin Health

I’m more than half way through my “Healthy Skin” campaign with AVEENO® and I have to say it’s been a great learning process and reminder to be better to my skin and focus on my overall health in general.

As moms, it’s easy to lose sight of our own well-being when we’re busy worrying about everyone else’s. I learned it the hard way and since Lucas was born I’ve been seriously ill twice, which I hadn’t experienced in my adult life before.

The basics of good skincare are really the foundation for leaving a healthy lifestyle in general: hydrate, eat well, sleep, and exercise. I struggle with just about all of these and sure enough, it’s reflected in my skin.

Four easy to spot (no pun intended) signs your skin needs some TLC are: dryness, acne, blotchiness and/or discoloration, and dark spots. There are great products on the market these days that can help address these problems, some that address them all in one.

I’ve been using AVEENO’s Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser which is specifically designed to help skin tone and texture. I tend to get redness in my skin and need all the help I can get. It’s really gentle so it doesn’t dry out my skin when I use it morning and night and does a good job at removing makeup and impurities. I’m hoping my diligent routine in combinations with better lifestyle choices will lead to fewer breakouts, which is tough during this sweaty weather! The cleanser also smells fantastic by the way and is an easy budget buy.

Poor skin health can be a result of lifestyle choices or a deeper health issue. As with all medical questions and concerns, contact your doctor.
