I’ve been working with R Baby Foundation for a couple of years now to raise awareness that not all emergency rooms are equipped to handle pediatric emergencies. Here’s a sobering PSA I filmed while pregnant with Lucas if you want to understand more and how you can get involved.

R Baby was founded by Phyllis and Andrew Rabinowitz after the passing of their infant daughter Rebecca, who was misdiagnosed in an emergency room. Through their commitment, R Baby is now in over 100 hospitals from coast to coast and beyond U.S. borders as a national advocate to establish a clear definition for pediatric emergency departments as well as specific criteria for all emergency departments who treat babies and young children. Approximately $7 million has gone directly to programming, equipment, training, lobbying, research, and education (for doctors and parents) since R Baby’s inception. It’s a tremendous organization that is making a huge impact on the care of sick and injured children and I’m honored to be an ambassador.

Last month, friends and advocates of R Baby joined together united to create a national standard for pediatric emergency care and have some serious fun in the process at the Rockin’ to Save Babies’ Lives concert with recording artists A Great Big World, Mary Lambert (Same Love), Ryan Star, Hannah Bronfman and DJ Cassidy. Nothing makes me feel older than current music artists but the night was an absolute blast and I even knew one of the songs.

I had a really busy day leading up to #RBabyRocks starting with another benefit meeting first thing in the morning so I had to dress comfortably and in flats to make it from day to night, not to mention the train commute. The concert was a mixed crowd and super dark so I’m glad I dressed casually.

Always a treat to see my fellow ambassadors and fairy godmother Julia Beck too.

  1. The dress is cute and it’s lovely to see other familiar faces. Will I see you at Fashion Forward next month? xo
