There are more than a few things that have changed since becoming a mom, including my skin. Or maybe it's just the clock dutifully ticking by. In any case, my face doesn't glow like it once did and those dreaded little lines appear to be making up for lost time, a sign of growing up at the beach, a lot of inside jokes, and one too many Cosmos.

On a recent descent from an Upper East Side breakfast with Roo, I popped into Bloomies to inquire about under-eye concealer and walked out with a new make-up routine that has completely changed how I feel about my skin.

Bobbi Brown

Clockwise:
SPF15 Tinted Moisturizer
Creamy Concealer Kit
Face Touch Up Stick
Bronzing Powder

If you have oily or combination skin like me, tinted moisturizer is a godsend. It's super lightweight and evens out the skin tone. I also got the Creamy Concealer Kit specifically for under my eyes, the Face Touch Up Stick for blemishes, which at 34 still pop up as frequently as when I was 15, and bronzing powder. The combination evens out my skin and gives it a natural, medium glow, the perfect foundation to apply color to. Best of all, it doesn't feel heavy or look "cakey," although you can definitely tell I'm wearing make-up (in a good way, I like to think). All the products are water-based, rather than oil, so they don't irritate my skin at all.

I can't believe it took me this long to embrace foundation make-up. Even in my twenties I could have used all of these!

Revlon Age Defying DNA Advantage

Bobbi is on the pricier side and also more of an effort to pick up than just swinging by the drugstore. A great alternative is Revlon's new Age Defying with DNA Advantage. While I haven't used it long enough to notice a reversal in lines and wrinkles, the coverage, hydration and SPF are great, and it leaves a dewy glow. Because it's so lightweight, I still need concealer for blemishes and had to play around with the application (sponge vs. fingers) to maximize coverage but it's the best drugstore foundation I've ever used.

{I was not compensated in any way for this post. I received the Age Defying with DNA Advantage line at a Revlon beauty and wellness event.}
