Glamamom's Fall/Winter Best Beauty Picks

1. Fine Featherheads Fly Ties and Flybands, $7.95: Pretty and ribbon-like, they won't damage, tug or leave creases in your hair.

2. Archipelago Botanicals MILK Oat Lotion, $25: Thick but not greasy with a great aroma and generous size. Gorgeous packaging. I'm thrilled to discover this lotion as well as Archipelago's vast array of scented candles.

3. Sia Botanics Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, $18: This pumpkin, glycolic, and sugar cane mask promises to improves texture, tone, and the appearance of pores and fine lines. I use it twice a week and it leaves my face soft and clean. I love that it heats and tingles as it's working its magic.

4. NeutrogenaShine Control Primer, $12, Shine Control Makeup, $12, Shine Control Powder, $10: guaranteed shine-free with a rice protein technology that acts like a sponge to absorb excess oil.

5. Julep Caroline Nail Color, $14: A dark burgundy shimmer. My favorite take on the oxblood trend.

6. Fresh Citron de Vigne Bath & Shower Gel, $18.50: A dear friend and mentor sent me a gorgeous Fresh gift set when Lucas was born to pamper myself with. The gel is my favorite. It contains vitamins C and E and is infused with a citrus sparkling scent inspired by France’s Champagne region. Winter bubble baths are the best!

7. L'Oreal Paris Youth Code BB Cream, $14.99: The latest trend in beauty, my favorite mass market skincare product. Full review here.

8. Nourish Organic Body Butter, $7.99: I recently tried this body butter in lavender mint for the first time and love it. Made in the USA, it's free of parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances or preservatives, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, edta, or aluminum. Body butters are essential for the winter when skin is dryer than normal.

9. Snowberry Bright Defence Night Cream, $67: Sold at Bendel's, Snowberry is a new range of premium, anti-aging skin care, created in New Zealand by cosmetician, Soraya Hendesi. Contains no potentially harmful petrochemicals, sulphates, artificial colouring, silicones or glycols found in many skin care products, nor do any of the products contain parabens. The night cream is suitable for all skin types and helps reduce inflammation. A few small pumps go a long way and leave me glowing when I awake.

10. Garnier Fructis Fall Flight Conditioner, $4.99: I started using this conditioner earlier this week and it leaves my hair feeling full and strong. It has great texture and is formulated with energizing caffeine, strengthening biotin, and fruit vitamins to boost hair health and strength.

11. Suave Limited Edition Holiday Body Wash in Toasted Vanilla and Sugar, $1.99: Fresh vanilla scent and natural ingredients that leave the skin smelling sweet and feeling soft and smooth. Amazing price point so I don't feel guilty lathering up!

12. Simple Moisturizing Face Wash, $6.99: Perfect for sensitive skin since it's free of dyes, artificial perfumes and harsh irritants. Cleanses and nourishes skin. 100% soap free. Strong enough to remove makeup but gentle enough to use regularly without drying, a big issue for me in the cold weather.

13. Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Volu-Firm Eye Renewal Cream, $40 & Lifting Serum, $70: The specially-designed applicator of the eye cream fits the shape of the eye and allows its cooling liquid crystals to glide right on. Helps reduce puffiness and fine lines. The lifting serum increases skin's moisture and stimulates the production of collagen. If you're into anti-aging, this line is a must-try.

14. Mama Mio Boob Tube Bust & Neck Firmer, $45: I just stated getting acquainted with Mama Mio's line and am loving this lotion. We often focus so much on the face and body but ignore the neck and bust. The skin in the decolleté is similar to the skin around the eyes; thin, fragile and not very elastic. The pregnancy changes to my bust size are wreaking havoc so I'm glad to have found an area-specific lotion for a counter attack!

15. Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss, $7.50: Creamier feel, mirror-like color without any stickiness. Comes in 10 great shades.

16. Colgate Optic White Mouthwash, $2.99 & Toothpaste, $4.29: Mouthwash contains 2% hydrogen peroxide so it's a great way to maintain my smile between professional whitenings. The taste of the mouthwash took some getting used to but it's really refreshing and combined with the toothpaste, which contains 1% hydrogen peroxide, I'm confident it's countering the damage inflicted by my caffeine habit (I have to remember to take a "before" shot next time to share!)

17. Dove Style + Care Nourishing Amplifier Mousse, $4: Adds body and control without weighing hair down and the price is right. I tend not to notice a big difference among mousses so the price is a big factor here.

18. Panasonic Precision Facial Hair Trimmer, $29.99: My favorite of Panasonic's new trio of compact beauty tools. Read the full review here.
