Runway Ready With Ouidad- Relaxed Texture

Good news for moms and busy women everywhere: waves and relaxed bed head styles are all the rage right now and will continue to be a growing hair trend in 2014, according to Ouidad creative director Morgan Willhite. I've been embracing beachy waves all summer since they require nothing more than a little sea spray and maybe heat or accessories for an 'updo if you're feeling ambitious.

I met Willhite backstage at Tracy Reese on Sunday as she was over seeing a team of Ouidad stylists to create carefree but sophisticated up-styled textured knots with soft free-flowing waves to balance the sensuality and energy of Reese's bold and bright Afro-Cuban influenced Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear collection. Rich in detail including leather and raffia embroideries and athletic accents, the silhouettes range from crop tops paired with full midi skirts (I love the trend but so NOT mom friendly) and trousers to signature fit and flare frocks in blues, oranges, and of course, black and white. View the full collection here.

To get the textured hair, Willhite recommends Ouidad Wave Create Sea Spray and Wave Create Texture Taffy. For deep waves, the stylists used this amazing wave tool from Bed Head. Keep waves from frizzing and losing shape with PlayCurl Volumizing Styling Spray.
