Is it just me or are kids clothes getting cooler and cooler? Sure there are still some super cutesy, adorably childish clothes available, but more often than not I find myself going through children’s racks saying “I want this!” Maybe that says more about my quirky fashion sense than it does about kids clothes in general, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed back to school shopping this year. From graphic tees and fun prints to sparkles and classic staples, back to school fashion is cooler than ever.

My number one tip for kids clothes—no matter how cool they may be—is to stock up on lots of complimentary colors and prints. Leopard print and stripes are great patterns that serve as neutrals and can be mixed and matched with just about everything. By having a solid, interchangeable base, you will make your life a billion times easier when your kids start pulling clothes out and trying to dress themselves. And they will.
