I don't know about you but the Oscars were a total snoozefest again for me this year. All awards shows really are but this year I hadn't seen many of the contenders and I'm too exhausted to contemplate the whole James Franco thing.

And the fashion? Well, it was nice.

For the first time, I think I had more boos than oohs. But let's focus on the oohs and the fact that all but 1 are mamas! Super inspiring.

Oohs:

Reese Witherspoon (mother of 2) in vintage Giorgio Armani: I read all the quips about "Oscar Barbie" but for me, that's what makes this look so damn wonderful. So what if she's channeling Julia Roberts' 2001 vintage Valentino look.

Celine Dion (mother of 3, including newborn twins!) in Giorgio Arman Prive: My favorite look of the night head-to-toe. Elegant and sexy. And that Bulgari diamond and emerald pendant?  Chills.

Gwyneth Paltrow (mother of 2) in Calvin Klein Collection & Louis Vuitton jewels: As much as I detest the dingbat, she sure can pick a stylist.

Halle Berry (mother of 1) in Marchesa: Safe? We've seen it before? Perhaps. But she's perfect and I'm a sucker for tulle.

Anne Hathaway in vintage Valentino Haute Couture: I loved everything she wore last night. Every. Single. Thing. The Lanvin tux? The red Versace? I would have been all hysterical too if I got to wear that line-up.

Natalie Portman (expecting) in Rodarte: It was her night and she's incubating so I'll forgive the awkward length in the front and bridesmaid shoes.

Jennifer Hudson (mother of 1) in Atelier Versace: The boobage is a little much (how do they stay up like that?) but I understand she wants to show off the new bod and the tangerine is just gorgeous on her. She looked so happy and confident.

Boos:

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture: I want to love it but I just don't. Props that it elicited quotes like, "It's a moving work of art" from "style experts" Kelly Osbourne and Guiliana Rancic. Uh, no.

Nicole Kidman in Dior Haute Couture: Anyone who can add inches to their waste and still look that frail deserves something, just not best-dressed. Nothing here works for me. The vintage necklace, red shoes, hair, and silhouette are so disjointed I can't fathom how they ended up together. Overall biggest boo for me.

Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabanna: I'm loving lace everything this season. Just not this.

Hilary Swank in Gucci Premiere: The ombre feathered train creates the illusion that she's dragging a dead goose behind her, doesn't it? Beading + feathers = overkill.

Other boos? Jennifer Lawrence's tribute to Farrah Fawcett, a year late; Melissa Leo and her foul mouth (is she from Long Island?); and Kathryn Bigelow in a belted Snuggie.

I'm intrigued to hear what the Fashion Police have to say tonight. We never agree but trust me, I'm a-okay with that.

Who were your oohs and boos?
