I don’t know about you, but I am really feeling the fall crunch. Our stress-free, barely scheduled summer days have been entirely replaced with hustle. There’s the getting up and hurrying everyone through breakfast and getting dressed before the bus comes. The battle over homework. The run from dance to library trivia contest practice to play rehearsals. And did I mention that there’s work and agreeing to become a Girl Scout troop leader mixed in there too? My head is spinning.

I know I’m not the only one feeling the back-to-school culture shock. I know I’m not the only one who is feeling stressed. And I’m really hoping that I’m not the only one whose stress levels have turned her into a fire-breathing dragon that her family barely recognizes on more than one occasion.

When you find yourself screaming at your kids that they need to stop yelling at each other, you know something’s gotta give.

These last few weeks, I’ve been trying really hard to conquer stress naturally so that I can be a better mom and a better human. I started off by incorporating a little “me time” into my morning schedule—something that all moms need but we sometimes have trouble granting ourselves. Since I also really wanted to add exercise into my daily schedule (which experts agree is a great way to combat stress), I decided to sort of double dip on this one. I mean, there are only so many hours in the day! My “me time” is currently a two-mile morning walk along the river, a setting that I find incredibly beautiful and calming.

While both of these things have been working wonders on taking my stress levels down a notch, they don’t exactly help when I find myself tangled up in a really stressful moment. No amount of exercise or alone-time can erase stress from life completely, which is why I’ve also been turning to Bach Rescue when I feel my stress or anxiety levels rising.

Rescue products are made from wildflower extracts and are a natural way to instantly ease stress. My favorite is Rescue Remedy, a 75-year-old formula that you can spray or drop into your mouth quickly when you feel like you need to calm down. It’s seriously a game changer.

Whether you feel like you’re spinning out of control while you try to keep track of what places you need to haul your kids to when or you’re about to give a big presentation at work, a dose of this stuff and a few deep breaths are like magic. The drops are like my security blanket now. I literally will not leave home without them.

How do you deal with stress? Have you tried any Rescue products?

You can find Rescue Remedy and other Rescue products (which are very affordable) at natural food stores, Whole Foods, Sprouts and places like GNC and Vitamin Shoppe. Their store locator can help you find Rescue near you.
