Here’s what I wore in the Fashion Forward runway show thanks to one of the conference sponsors, Ebates. I don’t have many purple/burgundy/wine pieces in my wardrobe but this Madewell dress convinced me I need to add more. It’s such a great color for fall and really flattering for brunettes and warm skin tones.

Walking in the runway show was so much fun. We had our hair and makeup done and while it’s weird to think that at 36 with 2 kids and a lot of extra pounds I was strutting my stuff on a runway, it’s kinda cool too. I’m definitely filing this among things I never ever thought I would have the balls to do but I’m glad I did. Finding things to not like about yourself is exhausting.

While I’m sure Sarah Potempa’s fishtail braid, top knot thingy works well on her celeb clientele and waif-like runway models, with hair like mine, it’s more “petrified cat” than high style. But you, we models are chameleons and have to work what we’re given wink, wink!

Have a glamorous week.

This dress is such a gorgeous color! I think your bun looks great, but I know exactly how you feel. I like the top knot look on other people, but on me? Don’t love it.
