NYFW: Norma Kamali 3D Presentation

Stay true to who you are and reinvent to be relevant.  Norma Kamali

As a leading innovator in the fashion industry, it should come as no surprise that legendary designer Norma Kamali playfully presented her Spring 2012 collection by way of 3D technology. After all, she was among the first to launch an e-commerce website, open a store on eBay, design an affordable collection (for Walmart), and offer exclusive sales for her Facebook fans.

The 67 looks were showcased during an eight-minute, 3D fashion film and the Web’s first 3D video shopping pages in the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.  Guests received a pair of custom-designed, cat-eye glasses to view the film on a huge screen and laptops were available to view the video shopping pages which debuted yesterday, worldwide.

Also present, were the two bubbly stars of the 3D film, wearing full neon looks from Kamali’s Spring 2012 Collection:

The presentation magnified the lighthearted and quirky side Kamali is known for, as do her edgy, retro-inspired designs. You can get your own pair of 3D glasses on the website or Facebook and see for yourself.

Speaking of fashion legends, while hanging out at Lincoln Center taking pictures and inhaling the style, we saw the fiery Patricia Field dashing to the Michael Kors show, which certainly added to the euphoria brought on by Fashion Week.

Love that blazer! And a 3D show? haha How fun! And I use a Canon Rebel T2i. I’m very new to photography, so I don’t have any other lenses and I usually just use the auto setting. : / What do you use?
