If there were ever a time to try incorporating a face oil into your skin care routine, it’s now. With dropping temperatures and howling winds, moisturizing dehydrated and irritated skin is an essential step in protecting against moisture loss and preserving balance.

What I like most about face oils is that they cut right to the chase and instantly hydrate, leaving my skin feeling softer and more luminous. It’s that glow that’s associated with healthy, youthful skin.

Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil is a brand new product for me and I’ve been using it at bedtime in place of night cream. Since I’m acne prone, I’m careful not to layer on too many products but depending on your skin type, you may want to add hydration after your moisturizers in the morning and at night.

A daily treatment with 9 enriched natural oils including: coconut, apricot kernel, grape seed extract, sunflower, tangerine, evening primrose, jojoba, babassu (I had to look it up), Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil absorbs quickly and even though it’s a combination of oils, it’s very lightweight. I know that’s tough to wrap your brain around if you haven’t used a face oil before but remember, these are not cooking oils! In fact, I would say the consistency of Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil is closer to water than your standard cream moisturizer.

The orange oil is very apparent in the scent of Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil, which I happen to really like. A clean, invigorating, citrus-y smell makes me happy. Its packaging is really simple and pretty. The bottle is clear and contains a dropper to make dispensing the oil easier. The formula is also transparent and is both perfume and dye free.

I’m a big fan of Olay, as you know, and the Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil doesn’t disappoint. You will see an instant glow like I do, I promise you that. At around $25/bottle, it’s both affordable and accessible, and a little goes a long way so it will last you awhile too.

Have you tried a face oil? What are your thoughts?

Lucky me, I got to review the Epilator and Exfoliator SystemFacial Ionic Steamer, Rolling Handheld Rolling Massager, and Heated Eyelash Curler as part of Panasonic’s #Snowvember Program.

I love being able to treat myself on my own time at home and all of these products can be used in a relatively short amount of time for a quick pick-me-up. They make awesome gifts too. Here are my thoughts on each tool.

Alberto VO5’s Recommended 5-Step Process to Tame Frizzy Hair

I’ve had so much fun working with Alberto VO5 on its “National Frizz Month” campaign showing women how to prevent and manage frizzy hair during the hot summer months.

Humid weather causes frizzy hair for most women. In a recent survey, a whopping 87% percent of women say they suffer from frizz and use specialty products to manage it. Seventy-five percent of women check the weather forecast each day to plan their frizz fighting routines and 25% even admit to staying home on a bad hair day!

Here’s why we get frizzy hair in the first place and how to stop it before it starts.

If you’re having a particularly bad hair day, trying styling your hair up. Here’s my favorite simple summer up-do, a knotted bun tutorial, plus the products I use for styling.

For my last video in this series, I have the complete VO5 recommended 5-step process for preventing and managing frizz from pre-treatment through styling and the 5 products to tame frizzy hair:

How-To Fight Frizz | Put Your Hair Up!

In high school a friend showed me how to knot my hair and I’ve been wearing it up in a knotted bun ever since. No accessories needed! It’s the perfect style on hot and humid days when frizz takes over and I want my hair completely up off my shoulders.

In honor of Alberto VO5’s ® “National Anti-Frizz Month,” here’s a quick tutorial and the products I use to reduce frizz and hold the bun in place:

Beauty Buzz | First Aid Beauty

First Aid Beauty Products Review

First Aid Beauty (also known as FAB), is a skincare line free of harsh chemicals and known allergens, alcohol, fragrances, and artificial dyes. Select products also boast FDA-approved over-the-counter formulations that target specific skin issues such as eczema and acne. The brand has around since 2009, founded by industry vet Lilli Gordon when to fill the void in the prestige skincare market for super sensitive skin.

Overall I really like the line. The vintage drug store packaging is super cute and the products are hydrating and lightweight. The price tag is really hefty so I think First Aid Beauty obviously makes the most sense for those with eczema or very sensitive skin. If I had to compare the brand to one more mass market I would definitely say it’s the higher-end Simple. They have that fragrance free, paired down smell and feel to them. Here are my thoughts on individual products within the line:
