Blogger of the Day at Anderson Live

Jill Seiman & Anderson Cooper, Blogger of the Day, Anderson Live

This morning I had the distinct honor and pleasure of being “Blogger of the Day” at Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show, Anderson Live. During my tenure, I sat in the audience and live Tweeted my thoughts and reactions to noteworthy news and guest interviews as moderated by Cooper and today’s co-host Kyra Phillip’s of HLN’s “Raising America.” I’m a big fan of both Cooper and Phillips and respect their candid journalism and humor so it was fun to watch them as a team.

If you didn’t get a chance to follow along on Twitter (#AndersonLive) or see today’s broadcast, the “First 15″ was dedicated to breaking news including: the acquittal of Amanda Knox being overturned (Cooper asked the audience, “Would you go back to Italy if you were Amanda Knox?”), the monumental decision facing the Supreme Court in its consideration of gay rights, the 44-year old deli owner who won q $338 million Powerball Jackpot (“Do you think winning that kind of money would change you?”), and Dillie a domesticated pet deer that has given a woman receiving chemotherapy treatment joy and comfort.

AC2

The show’s in-studio guests included two women from TLC’s “My Crazy Obsession” and a doctor that warns collecting is healthy until it negatively impacts your relationships or financial status.

Fashion expert Jill Martin rounded out the morning with 3 fixes for common fashion problems:
1. Not enough color in your wardrobe? Use scarves and accessories to incorporate seasonal trends.
2. Too many clothes in your closet that you’re not wearing? Invite over an honest friend and donate SEVENTY-FIVE percent of closet.  Apply the 6-month rule and get rid of anything you don’t have immediate plans to wear.
3. White tee shirts making you look washed out? Add a colorful statement necklace and be sure to replace tees every few months for that crisp whiteness.

Funny enough, the studio is the same that Nate Berkus used to film in, which brought back some hilarious memories.

The crew was absolutely lovely and Cooper could not have been a more gracious host. During commercial breaks he walked around the audience answering questions and taking photos. After the taping concluded I got to join him in a photo booth for the above photo to memorialize the occasion.

Huge thanks to Myescha and Harrison for the glamorous start to the week and for taking such good care of me! I’ve had a few talk show experiences at this point and this was by far my favorite.

Mode Monday | Isabella Oliver World Style Panel

Isabella Oliver Style Panel

I’m joining stylish mamas Kristin of BonBon Rose Girls and Andrea Howe of For the Love of… on the Style Panel of Isabella Oliver with my best pregnancy and maternity wear advice.  Check it out!

I almost miss being pregnant the clothes are so pretty but I’ve now got my eye on the nursing tops.  There’s a serious lack of postpartum options for nursing moms.

Have a glamorous week!

If you’re linking up with #MondayMingle, the linky is being hosted by Momtrends this week.  “Monday Mingle” is a weekly fashion/personal style link-up rotated between Momtrends, BonBon Rose Girls, and Glamamom.

Glamamom on Z100

The Goodness Forecast for New York, NYI’ve been consulting for Post Cereal as a “Goodness Forecaster” for its new website, PostGoodness.com since its launch in July.

The folks at Post believe, as I do, that every day presents the opportunity to create goodness and that mindfully setting a good intention for the day will actually help make good things happen.

PostGoodness.com is a forum to post intentions and publishes the “Goodness Forecast” measuring the potential for goodness in regions across the United States based on daily factors like local events, news stories and weather conditions, as well as long-term factors like the economy and environment.

Along with Take 2 Mommy, I serve as Post’s eyes and ears in New York and update the forecast several times a week with local happenings and what NY’ers are buzzing about.

Being a forecaster is a fun way to affirm my own intentions and stay up-to-date on the latest local news.  But here’s a little added bonus…tomorrow morning, Wednesday, August 29th, radio endorsements for the Goodness Forecast will be running on Z100, New York’s most listened to radio station, and Glamamom will be mentioned four times between 6am and 10am!  A wee bit exciting for this Long Island girl who called in NKOTB requests for a year straight (late ’80s, not the recent reunion, I SWEAR!)

If you’re local and hear it, please give me a shout!

Glamamom Olay Advertorial | May 2012 Cosmopolitan

I’m tickled to be endorsing the new Olay® Total Effects Tone Correcting UV Moisturizer in the May 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan (“The Sex Issue,” obviously) on newsstands now!

Skincare has never been more important to me and Total Effects Tone Correcting UV Moisturizer helps fight SEVEN signs of aging with its vitamin-rich complex that combines anti-aging moisturizer, SPF 15, and sheer tint to (1) reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (2) balance and even out skin tone (3) reduce the appearance of age spots (4) improve skin surface turnover with gentle exfoliation (5) moisturize the skin and reduce dryness (6) defend against moisture loss by providing a moisture barrier that replenishes and protects skin (7) recapture youthful luminosity.

I’ve been using it for the past few months and LOVE that it’s an all-in-one formula that moisturizes and protects while evening out my skin tone. It goes on smooth, works great under make-up, has a great smell, cute packaging, and is priced right. What more can a Glamamom ask for?

{I was provided product for review and compensation for my appearance in the advertorial but not this review/post. All opinions are my own.}
