Festival Style

Just because we’re more likely to be spotted at Chuck E Cheese’s than Coachella, doesn’t mean we can’t be inspired by festival style!

I know it’s been forever since I shared an outfit post. The cold is unrelenting and not particularly inspiring. My everyday uniform is a variation of jeans, heavy sweaters, and boots. We had some mild weather last week but the temperature is back down below 20 degrees this morning and we’re expecting more snow tomorrow! I’m trying not to complain because I know in a few short months it will be sticky and humid. In the meantime, I’ll be bundled up dreaming of spring fashion trends!

Glam Baby Gear | New BRITAX Affinity Stroller #BritaxStyle

Britax-Affinity- Stroller

Last week at a launch event in Manhattan, I walked the runway with the brand new BRITAX Affinity stroller. Designed to blend fashion and function, Affinity is available in 18 fabric and frame color combinations allowing you to customize it to your personal needs and aesthetic.

The six color packs are offered in tones like “Cool Berry,” “Blue Sky,” “Cactus Green,” “Red Pepper,” “Fossil Brown” and “Black, and include a canopy, shoulder and buckle pads, basket liner and machine-washable padded seat liner. The streamlined frame is available in black, silver and white.

One of my favorite features is the Click & Go system that allows you to install a bassinet or infant car seat, and switch direction of the seat, without the need for additional adapters.

My black Affinity coordinated perfectly with the head-to-toe Kohl’s ensemble celebrity stylist Alana Kellan put together for me. Everyone has been asking about the heels! They’re HeartSoul and still available at Kohl’s here, although you may want to opt for a little less height while pushing a stroller!

I did my own hair and used the Rowenta Curl Active Curling Iron, a new favorite. More details coming up in a separate post.

{I was not compensated for this post. Thanks to the ladies of Getting Gorgeous for a fabulous event!}

SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker

Hello, Lover!

The highly anticipated SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker collection of shoes debuted yesterday, exclusively at Nordstrom. Parker’s longtime relationship with Manolo Blahnik’s CEO (and shoes) led to the collaboration of candy-colored pumps, strappy heels, and flats.

The designs aren’t exactly cutting edge (and some are a bit “granny,” if I’m being honest) but you can never go wrong with a classic, wearable heel. $200+ per pair is certainly on the pricey side but they’re handcrafted in Italy and a steep discount to standard Blahniks.

What do you think? Would Carrie forgo this month’s rent for a pair?

As you can probably tell, I love a good fashion collaboration. It usually marries two brands I like with unique twist.

Inspired by original illustrations, babyGap is currently offering Paddington Bear baby apparel up to 24 months. The collection is filled with practical, durable designs mostly in bright primary colors. I have a hard time choosing favorites; everything is so sweet. It’s limited edition so get it while the gettin’s good!

Gap is also having its semi-annual kids and baby sale up to 40% off through the 27th.

With perpertually cold and snowy weather, illness, and general disinterest (if I’m being honest), I hadn’t planned on too many fashion week events. But when Kristin and Megan from BonBon Rose Girls and Carly from Thirty Something Fashion are in town, all bets are off. We met up with Nicole from Momtrends to warm up over some gossip, guac, and margaritas then hit Lincoln Center for pictures. It was dark and it was cold but it was FUN.

My theme in these conditions is warmth and comfort, hence the turtleneck and flats. I don’t regret a thing. Except maybe that Cadillac burger at PJ Clarke’s a mere 3 hours after finishing lunch.

Stay warm and have a glamorous week!

Tablet Fashion

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

I recently joined Intel’s #TabletCrew and received my first ever tablet, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, for review. While Leo and Sebastian love theirs, I wasn’t convinced I really needed one. Now after only a few short weeks, I’m not sure how I ever lived without it.

Lightweight and portable, I’ve been packing my tablet for downtime between school pick up and drop off, train rides into the city, and just browsing or reading whenever I have time to myself. The sharp, 10-inch screen is a big upgrade from my phone and the battery lasts for 8 hours. It has 1 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM, and is compatible with Microsoft Office, which allows me get actual work done. So far I’m really impressed. Stay tuned for more updates on #IntelTablets.

In the meantime, I need to get a cute case before it gets banged up in my bag or one of the kids stakes his claim. Should I get a skin, a folio with keyboard, or just a cute leather case? Here’s a selection that caught my eye:

What’s your tablet style?
