Vacation was rough on my skin. I know, boohoo, poor me. But seriously, between the snow and the desert, my hands were so dry that at one point I seriously debated whether I could wash them.
Since returning home, I've been using the new AQUATION line of skin care. All of the cleansers and moisturizers are under $10 and they're doing a respectable job of restoring the water balance to my skin. Here's what's in the new skin care line:
1. AQUATION Hydrating Cleansing Bar ($2.99): Promises to gently cleanse away dirt, oil, and makeup while nourishing skin with a rich lather. I like bars and being able to use a gentle cleanser all over. This one's in my shower right now and it's definitely gentle, similar to a typical Dove bar.
2. AQUATION Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser ($9.99): Promises to clean face without stripping or over-drying. Hyaluronic Acid + Ceramides reinforce the outer layers of skin to prevent water loss; marine actives deliver long-lasting, continuous hydration. I like this cleanser a lot. It is indeed gentle and I like the big pump. A lot of bang for your buck!
3. AQUATION Daily Moisturizing Lotion ($9.99): Promises instantly softer, more beautifully balanced skin with a non-greasy formula. I like that it's fragrance-free and light. Like the cleanser, it comes in a large bottle with a pump, which I also love. For the state of my skin though, I'm using the Moisturizing Cream after I shower...
4. AQUATION Moisturizing Cream ($9.99): Promises a luxuriously rich formula which penetrates deeply for intense hydration, instantly relieving dry, itchy or irritated skin. All day hydration in a single application. For winter, I definitely recommend this formula. Again, the price is right, you get an ample amount, and the creamy formula moisturizes immediately.
It's worth noting, that while fragrance-free implies "healthy," there are ingredients in other big-name cleansers and moisturizers like Parabens (Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl and Butyl) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, that can irritate eyes and skin, alter hormones, and even test as carcinogenic. AQUATION™ is also free of BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole), BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluen), Coal Tar Dyes, DEA (Diethanolamine), DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate), Formaldehyde-Releasing Preservatives, SLS and Triclosan. A step in the right direction, for sure.
I like the new AQUATION skin care line and at this price point and value, think it's definitely worth a try. There's a current promotion with a $2.50 off coupon for a 16 oz bottle of AQUATION Skin Care through June. Can't beat that!
