I don't have much to show for myself yet but I want to officially announce that I've accepted a position writing a daily beauty feature for Babble.com! Here's my introduction post with my editorial calendar. Accurate, no?
Alongside Lauren Hartmann of The Little Things We Do, Sonya Lee Benham of Parlor: Diary of a Hairdresser, and Maegan Tintari of Love Maegan, we'll be dishing makeup trends and our favorite looks for every occasion, as well as the serious side of beauty like grappling with body image after baby and figuring out how to talk to girls about how we understand what it means to be 'pretty.'
Our goal is to not only provide great advice on how to master the smoky eye or the fishtail braid but start a dialogue about embracing beauty within.
I thought long and hard before I accepted the job. I've never had to write every day and with my guys being so little and dependent, I won't lie, I'm shaking in my boots. But it's a great opportunity for me in so many ways: a new community of people to get to know and learn from, a chance to hone my writing skills and improve my time management, and most importantly, a legitimate excuse for my blowouts and manicures (I'm researching an article!).
There are traffic goals (holy hell) so I would appreciate your continued support as I embark on this journey. At least once a week I'll link all of my Babble posts here on Glamamom and beg you to read them. If you're a fellow beauty blogger, please send me your weekly beauty posts for possible inclusion in Friday's weekly roundup, and if you're a PR pro, please keep me in mind for any new product launches/events/stories. Mama needs content.
Wish me luck!
