While Korean sheet masks have taken the Western beauty world by storm (remember how they were the star of awards season earlier this year with celebrities posting Instagrams of their pre-show primping?), they've long been a part of Asian skin care.
As if the hydrating, brightening, and rejuvenating effects of sheet masks aren't enough, now there's a way to boost your results. Karuna, the first sheet mask brand to launch in the U.S. and known for its clinically proven “Mask + Serum = Results” Sheet Masks, recently debuted the latest innovation in face masks: “Results x2” Melting Boosts. The "boosts" come from spot-on solutions that bake ingredients into a film to lock in powerful nutrients.
The Karuna Melting Boost Collection includes three targeted formulas: Correct+, Spot+ and Under Eye+ ($18 each) to target treat pimples, age spots, sun spots, and fine lines. Each Melting Boost formula (featuring a blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Chinese Licorice, and Vitamin B) dissolves into skin when activated by Karuna Face Mask serums and intensify sheet mask results:
Correct+ Melting Boost: Minimizes the appearance of sun and age spots on the face, hands, and under the eyes. TIP: Use under the Karuna Brightening+ Face Mask or Karuna Age-Defying Hand Mask to double down on dark spots.
Spot+ Melting Boost: Helps remove dirt that can block pores and trigger breakouts. TIP: Use under the Karuna Clarifying+ Sheet Mask to target treat stubborn bumps.
Under Eye+ Melting Boost: Reduces the appearance of fine lines and helps hydrate the area around the eyes. TIP: Use under the Karuna Age-Defying+ Face Mask or Renewal+ Eye Mask for a younger-looking appearance.
I adore my masks in all forms but Korean sheet masks are the easiest to love. You peel them from their backing and place over your face for 10-20 minutes, depending on how much time you have. I'll throw one on in the morning as I'm getting ready and the cooling and hydrating power are undeniable. It's a mini-facial that you can do anywhere. The new boosts are great because they go on first, right before the mask, to target problem areas and are activated by the serums in the sheet mask. It's basically a two-for-one. Plus, they are the BEST for scaring (or scarring) your children:
