Join me Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Central Park’s Victorian Gardens to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Camp Homeward Bound at a very special benefit event, Carnival Night for Kids. Camp Homeward Bound, launched by the Coalition for the Homeless in 1984, is the nation’s first sleep-away summer camp designed specifically for the unique needs of homeless children.
Tonight, a record 23,000 children will sleep in homeless shelters. Roughly one in every 20 NYC public school kids have no home to return to at the end of the long school day. For 30 years, Camp Homeward Bound has provided 300 girls and boys each summer with critical relief from the chaos and instability of shelter life in a supportive environment where they can learn, play, grow – and just be kids again.
This year’s benefit will feature rides, face painting, a magic show, a balloon raffle, book signings by award-winning authors, and more. It will be an unforgettable evening bringing together over 500 caring New Yorkers to have fun with their families while raising awareness and support for Camp Homeward Bound.
We've supported Carnival Night for Kids in the past and not only is Camp Homeward Bound and incredible organization worthy of our attention and support but the event is an absolute blast for the entire family. A total win-win.
Tickets start at $100 per child and $150 per adult. For tickets and sponsorship, click here.
Hope to see you there.
