You know we're big Gap fans around here. Well, to help kids express their creativity in yet another way, Gap is hosting Shine On Saturdays, a series of complimentary events at select GapKids stores nationwide this month, featuring special art projects by Merrilee Liddiard, illustrator, painter, crafter, seamstress, and editor of Mer Mag.

From creating geometric masterpieces on canvas using paint and tape, to making colorful, custom journals to get ready for back-to-school, the projects are inspired by the GapKids and babyGap Fall Collections, including the best new 1969 denim, Jewel Box Skinnies for girls--a new skinny jean updated in bright stretchy denim, and Action Stretch Denim for boys--denim that’s made to move and play all day.

There are 2 remaining Shine On Saturday events in the NYC area designed to let your little ones unleash their inner artists, and maybe allow you some to time to accomplish a little back-to-school shopping!
