Get Creative with Kiwi Crate

Kiwi Crate - Science of Color Seamless

Now that summer is in full effect, I’m often looking for fun activities to keep the littles engaged and excited. We’re usually found running around the city or exploring Central Park, which has plenty to keep us occupied, but on the days when rain drives us indoors, craft projects are tops on our list.

I have visions of a Pinterest-worthy craft closet, but the sad reality is that it’s overflowing with feathers, googly eyes, glitter and foam shapes that I spent far too much time acquiring with far too many hours spent wandering the aisles of my local Michaels store. We all know that the projects we envision creating with our littles, are often not what appears before our eyes (Nailed It, anyone?).

Much to my pleasure, we discovered Kiwi Crate, a monthly delivery service (you can choose 1, 3, 6 or 12 month options) and was immediately hooked. Each “crate” is beautifully designed with high-quality materials and instructions for 2 - 3 activities from art, science, games and imaginative play.

The illustrations are fun and easy to follow and all of the supplies are plentiful and many of the pieces are dual purpose or offer “bonus activities”. For example, you can turn the set of instructions that came with our crate into a 3-D rainbow - cool! Our crate had two projects focused on color which was perfect for my four-year-olds.

Both my son and daughter were equally interested in the spin art project with cardboard rings, vials of paint and loved taking turns spinning the tops and creating fun psychedelic art. They also loved experimenting with the “color separation lab” where we got to mix different colors and see how they changed and morphed right before our eyes.

Kiwi Crate really was a fun way for us all to be involved in something creative and also learn a little something along the way. Not only will I be signing up for a subscription myself, a have quite a few birthday parties coming up and this would make a great gift beyond the typical Lego or Princess schwag.

Lucky for you, Kiwi Crate has offered us two crates to give away to Glamamom readers!
