Momstrology | The AstroTwins' Guide to Parenting {Giveaway}

Enter to win a copy of Momstrology: the complete guide to understanding how both you and your little one are guided by the stars.

When asked about my sons' personalities, I will almost always mention that they're Virgos and were born the years of the ox and dragon in the Chinese zodiac. I think those little tidbits says so much, even to those who only dabble in astrology.

While I don't exactly live my life by the moon and the stars, I've always found astrology fascinating and am intrigued by the idea that different aspects of our nature are affected by our zodiac signs and birth charts. As such, I was super excited to read Momstrology: The AstroTwins' Guide to Parenting Your Little One by the Stars, and am still thinking through all the thoughtful advice it provided me as a Leo mom (with a Scorpio fourth house ruler). Momstrology is loaded with sign-specific advice to make sense of parenting from an astrological point of view accounting for the strengths and weaknesses of each sign between mother/child and father/child, whether you're new to astrology or really into it.

Every bit of commentary in Momstrology rings one hundred percent true for my family and I found myself having little revelations all the way through. As an example, my husband and I recently discussed giving our 5 year old chores to do each day and earn an allowance. It may or may not be the right thing for all 5 year olds but knowing our son's need to keep busy and do things own his own combined with our desire to instill a strong work ethic while also laying the foundation for financial responsibility, we started kicking around ideas but never got around to implementing them. Sure enough, Momstrology points out the need for Virgos to have projects and tasks to master and recommends household chores for Virgo children. The affirmation was the push I needed and this past weekend we spoke to Sebastian about his list of chores and paycheck and so far he's thrilled with his "jobs" and earning his own money.

In a chapter titled, "Mother & Child Matches" the AstroTwins list all of the possible mom/child combinations and detail where the signs click and clash. Some personality traits are more obvious than others but it's great to understand how your strengths compliment those of your child and vice versa. I find with better understanding I am more patient and compassionate.

Momstrology is a hearty 550+ pages but only sign-specific sections of each chapter are applicable to the individual reader so it's quite manageable. I read all applicable sections over my morning coffees one weekend. It also has a pretty, feminine cover and makes a fun "wishing well" baby shower gift for the mom or mom-to-be that either likes astrology or parenting books in general. If you're the least bit interested in understanding and improving your parenting style, I'd say you're ahead of the game and would enjoy this fun but thoughtful read.

WIN IT! I have a copy of Momstrology to give to one Glamamom reader!
