This evening my cuz and I dropped by the Garment District for fashion designer & Glamamom Kara Janx's trunk show with boutique jewelry designer Stella & Dot.

You may remember Kara as one of the finalists of Project Runway's Season 2? Well, she's parlayed that experience into a much-deserved, successful career designing gorgeously tailored, colorful cocktail dresses {photo via Merci New York}:

Kara was a lovely hostess and even demonstrated for us the many ways to wear my new purchase, the Maya Silk Wrap Skirt (pictured first above) in canary yellow. It's one of her most versatile pieces and can be worn as both a high and low-waisted skirt and two different style cocktail dresses. Here it is again wrapped up like a big present:

Stella & Dot stylist Beth Solomon came down from Boston to showcase their Spring/Summer collection. I've been ogling it online so it was nice to see the pieces up-close and personal:

I also got this S&D necklace (it's my birthday next week so I have to wish myself a happy one ;)

Thank you Kara Janx and Beth Solomon, I can't wait to wear my new stuff! And Cousin Kat, for dinner and the sweaty laughs.
