The laundry room always seems to be the smallest room in the house, yet despite being so small, we spend almost every day here. If your laundry room is utter chaos like mine used to be, then it may be time for you to finally get that laundry room under control! My laundry room organization ideas will not only help you save precious laundry room real estate, but you’ll also save some time! Here are my top laundry organization tips that your home needs.

Divide and conquer, literally

One of the best ways to organize a small room such as your laundry room is with dividers. Start by taking everything out of the space and then organizing it by category. I like to use shelf dividers to keep everything neat and organized, but still allow myself room to work. Using your categories, create dividers and bins to hold all of your laundry needs.

Drying racks

Delicates and other items will need to be air dried instead of put in the dryer. To keep these items looking their best, you’ll want to maximize small space with a drying bar or rack. Dryer comes in different shapes and sizes depending on your needs. You can also opt for a simple bath or towel bar.

how to fold towels

Fold your towels like a pro

This is a hack for folding towels that is perfect for your home. Simply place one of your towels flat on your working surface. Next, put a cutting board (standard size is fine) in the center. Fold your towel over the edge of the cutting board on each end. Then, remove the board and fold it in half.

Have stain charts handy

The laundry room is where stains go to meet their maker. Having a convenient and easy to see reference guide can make laundry a breeze, and help make sure you have everything you need. Find a cute printable stain removal guide, like this one here. Then frame it to create functional decor in your laundry room!

Implement storage and more storage

Your laundry room will go right back to the way it was if you don’t have functional storage options in your laundry room. Not only will it make the space look cleaner, but it will keep you organized. Use your wall space, shelves, and even the doors to add hanging bins and other storage options to help maximize your laundry room space.
