Halloween delivered an early fright this weekend as NYC's cozy fall weather masqueraded as a bone-chilling, thunder-snowstorm.
The unseasonal flurries derailed our Saturday night Halloween festivities as we opted to hide deep under the covers instead. I can't ever remember snow around Halloween and not surprisingly the little that spooked us was a record amount for October in Manhattan.
While NYC was largely unaffected, some of our neighbors like New Jersey and Westchester County got considerably worse weather and even lost power in many areas so I can't complain. If this is fall, I'm shaking in boots over the impending winter!
By Sunday morning, the storm passed and the clouds parted, leaving just the brisk weather to contend with. Here we are, in layers, heading to brunch at Boutique Eat Shop, one of our favorite neighborhood haunts:
