Spring is in the air!

No, not really.

It was another melancholy, 30-degree day in Manhattan.

But warm weather is definitely on the minds of designers and retailers as they prepare to roll out their spring and summer 2011 merchandise.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've gotten a small reprieve from this brutal weather in the form of spring and/or summer previews from Spiegel, Newport News, American Eagle Outfitters, 77Kids, Aerie, and Haddad Brands: Nike Brand, Nike Team Sports, Levi's, Nike 6.0, andJordan children's apparel. Here's a brief overview:

Spiegel continues to abide by its 100+ year philosophy of versatile and functional wardrobes for women of all ages.

Pieces like the Signature Washed Linen Boyfriend Blazer (above, $99) and the Signature Stretch Sateen Safari Dress (below, $89) are perfect for the office and everywhere in between.

They've also done some trendier pieces in crochet, faux leather, and lace, all at affordable price-points:

American Eagle transported me to Montauk with their summer 2011 collection for men and women, Aerie, and at 77Kids (also at fantastically affordable prices):

Their 77Kids line is bursting with electric acid tones, a huge spring 2011 fashion trend. If anyone can pull them off, it's the kids:

Oh, and Brooke Shields dropped in with a little sunshine of her own:

Last but not least, Haddad Brands hosted a fabulous blogger brunch to help us better understand their children's-wear brands and peruse the showroom.

If your kids are rough and tumble like my Biggie, you'll want to check out these durable and high-quality, athletic wear-inspired duds and accessories from Nike, Nike Team Sports, Levi's, Nike 6.0, andJordan:

Tomorrow's forecast calls for freezing rain, sigh.

Only a few more months and I'll be complaining it's too hot.

Stay warm!
