I never thought that I would be as excited as I am over a toothbrush. Pre-kids, I remember seeing pictures of tiny tots in their jammies standing on a step stool at the bathroom sink and think it all looked too adorable for words. Fast forward to my two littles and the frenzy that can sometimes come with the bedtime routine. There really haven’t been any opportunities for snapping adorable photos since I was too busy chasing them with the toothbrush, until now.
Philips has just introduced the best toothbrush for kids, the Philips Sonicare For Kids. Its equipped with breakthrough Bluetooth(R) technology. The toothbrush connects to a free app that makes brushing fun. The main character in the app is a little “Furbee”-like fuzzy creature named Sparkly, that interacts with your kids via adorable eye movements, giggles and virtual gifts. When you first introduce the app, Sparkly hatches out of a little egg and is officially “adopted” into the family. He then guides your kids through a 2-minute brushing session and your kids will be begging to brush. I’m not kidding. The first morning after we gave the kids the toothbrush I awoke to my son standing beside my bed asking if it was time to brush his teeth. Wha? Amazing. The visuals show the brush cleaning away food particles (we call them sugar bugs in our house) and the kids are mesmerized!
According to Philips, parents say that it’s 98% easier to get their kids to brush longer and better with the new Sonicare for Kids and I believe it. You can use the app to monitor your kids daily brushing habits through the parent dashboard, set up milestones and virtual rewards to keep them motivated and even set up reminders for when it’s time to brush.
I’m sort of tempted to give this out as birthday or Christmas gifts to friends and family. It might seem a little weird but I think parents would thank me.
