Wishing on You, a Brooklyn-based artist collaboration, will be on view in Times Square August 17th to September 1st.
Drawing on Asian traditions to explore contemporary patterns of consumption, desire, and myth-making, the interactive piece allows visitors to physically go inside it and spin a wheel. When the wheel is spun, neon lights will illuminate the installation, an incredible photo opp!
Wishing on You is inspired by the tradition of Asian Prayer Wheels, said to accumulate wisdom and merit and purify negativity. Times Square could certainly use a little of that good karma! I usually try to avoid the area at all cost but here's a reason to brave the crowds!
