Last night I had the privilege of attending Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show, at New York Fashion Week. The show included moms and their children walking the runway in beautiful, totally accessible outfits.
Introduced by media personality Wendy Williams, the focus for mom-fashion was comfort and elegance. The looks on all of the beautiful moms of all sizes, including actress Lisa Rinna, incorporated fall trends like patterned loose pajama-style pants, fitted dresses with pencil skirts, and peplum or color blocking interspersed with sparkle, appearing both in dresses and tops.
For the children's fashions, my favorite part was the return of kid-friendly clothes. All of the looks were unfussy, cute, age-appropriate, and trendy. Accessorizing with hats instead of high heels, all of the girls looked happy and comfortable enough to run down the runway smiling and laughing, and the boys were relaxed in hoodies and t-shirts.
Best of all, all of the models, moms and kids alike, accessorized with enormous smiles showcasing the amazing time they were having walking the runway!
