Thursday night, my Fashion Week partners in crime, Lauren of A Mommy in the City and Natasha of Physique 57, and I enjoyed a night on the town commencing with cocktails at the sexy SD26 courtesy of TravelZoo, which is now offering "local deals" on entertainment and experiences in major cities throughout the country.
Rich says the collection “is Marie Antoinette reincarnated into the East Village. She is an exploration of the true New York female renegade; from 1920s prohibition sexy to 1980s pure punk.”
I have no idea what that means and from where we were sitting, I could barely see the clothing except when the models stopped for gratuitous groping like this:
and this (note the variation of expressions in the crowd):
The fashion was unapologetically ancillary to the head-scratching theatrics. But when I did catch a glimpse, there were things I would love to own:
The highlight of the runway for me was the hair by Warren-Tricomi Salon:
And appearances by Tinsley Mortimer:
Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir:
And Jenni "JWoww" of Jersey Shore walking arm and arm with Rich for the finale:
Most interesting though, was the passionate crowd of devoted fashionistas:
There are more photos on Facebook, if you're inclined.
I'm headed back to Lincoln Center this afternoon so stay tuned for more updates. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!
